Leírás:

Nora Schleicher (PhD, dr. habil) is a sociologist. Between 2005 and 2008 she was head of the Institute of Media and Journalism Studies at BKF. In 2019 she was visiting researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She is an associate professor of sociology at the Institute of Communication Studies at METU. She teaches social studies, media theories, identity theories, research methods among others. Her main research interest is focused on the relationship of language, power and identity. She has researched and published in the areas of gender and language use and the narrative construction of identity both online and off-line. Presently, she is involved in research on the role of language in migration as well as in the study of multimodal gender constructions on social network sites and the linguistic construction of emotions.
